Farm equipment accumulates a demanding mix of contaminants: animal waste, herbicide and pesticide residue from spraying equipment, built-up grease and oil, and field grime. These bond stubbornly to surfaces and, if left untreated, accelerate corrosion and mechanical wear on high-value machinery. Nutrien Ag Solutions stocks and recommends Chemron’s Farm Mate as a heavy-duty farm equipment cleaner — for instore use and as a product sold through to the farmers they serve.
Farm Mate is a highly concentrated, biodegradable alkaline cleaner formulated for the full range of agricultural contaminants — animal waste, herbicide and pesticide residue, grease and general grime — across machinery, vehicles, masonry, timber, plastic and rubber. The concentrated formula dilutes to suit the task: 1:3 for heavy soiling, 1:10 for tractors and trucks, 1:20 for general cleaning. Applied by brush or sprayer, left to dwell briefly, then pressure washed off. Farm Mate’s biodegradable formulation is an important consideration where runoff into paddocks and waterways is a concern.
For equipment heading into storage, Nutrien also recommends Protecta — Chemron’s anti-corrosion coating — applied after a Farm Mate wash to protect metal surfaces and preserve machinery value between seasons.
