Farm Mate is specifically formulated to meet the cleaning and degreasing demands of Australian farmers, and their need to maintain farm equipment, machinery and buildings. It is ideal for removing a wide variety of common agricultural contaminants and soiling – for example, removing animal waste from walls, floors and equipment or built-up herbicide and pesticide residue from spraying equipment. It is suitable for use on masonry, most metals, timber, plastic, rubber and most other materials commonly found on farms.
Protecta is a highly durable, weather-resistant, long-lasting anti-corrosion coating. This almost invisible wax-like film protects metal surfaces from weathering and other sources of corrosion.
Protecta is often used to protect plant and equipment during storage, either in the open air or undercover. It wicks readily and can seep into areas often prone to corrosion. It is not oily and does not leave a tacky surface that could attract dust and other debris.
Failure to adequately protect stored equipment can result in increased maintenance costs, faded and corroded finishes, and ultimately a decline in asset resale value.
The right end of this raw steel beam was treated with one coat of Protecta. The left end was left untreated as a control sample. Note below how water beads on the Protecta-treated section.

Duxton Vineyards
Like many vineyards and other agricultural enterprises, Duxton Vineyards uses Chemron Farm Mate as a vital part of their plant and equipment maintenance programme.
Richard Lambe from Duxton Vineyard recently sent us some before and after pictures and a brief explanation. The sprayer had been used frequently over a three month period. In between sprays, it was hosed off, but not pressure washed. The photographs below show the sprayer after this three month period, and prior to its thorough cleaning with Farm Mate.
The sprayer was hosed off to remove loose contamination and then Farm Mate was applied at the recommended one part Farm Mate to ten parts water. It was allowed a short dwell time, but not allowed to dry. A pressure washer was then used to complete the job. The photographs below show the immediate result of the clean, and also a day later when the sprayer was completely dry
Directions
Dilutions for Farm Mate:
General soiling of walls, floors and equipment etc. – 1 part to 3 parts water.
Farm bikes, tractors and trucks, etc. -1 part to 10 parts water.
General cleaning – 1 part to 20 parts water.
Rinse or pressure wash off any loose matter.
Apply Farm Mate using a brush or sprayer.
Allow to dwell for a few minutes, but do not allow to dry.
Thoroughly rinse the area with a hose or preferably a pressure washer.
Repeat steps 2 to 4 if required.
Note: Avoid contact with aluminium and take care around painted surfaces.
Dilution for Protecta: Ready to use.
Protecting metal parts from corrosion during periods of non-use or transport
Shake or stir well before use.
Apply by spray, dip or brush ensuring the part is completely covered.
Leave to drip dry on a rack. When dry, a wax-like residual is left.
Best to store protected parts on surfaces other than metal.
When the part is required for use, clean with a solvent degreaser such as Dislodge
Protecting machinery and equipment
Shake or stir well before use.
Apply by spray, dip or brush.
Ensure the areas to be protected are completely covered.
Allow to dry/cure for a minimum of 24 hours before use.
Note: We recommend that Protecta is not applied when there is moisture in the air, or likely to be in the air during the drying time.
